The Big THREE

Mason celebrated his 3rd birthday on Saturday, the 18th. Wow how time flies!!! It is so hard to believe how much he has changed and how much life in general has changed in those three years. He is seriously getting so grown up!!!

Birthdays are a big deal at our house. Jeramy and I try and make the day special for our kids. The whole day is all about them. We want them to have Birthdays they will remember. So, it's their special day!

Mason's Birthday started out early that morning. Grandma and Grandpa Stewart wanted to take him out for breakfast. Mason wasn't too sure about waking up at 6:45 to be ready when they showed up at 7:00 AM. Needless to say, he was still in bed when they got here. Grandma and Grandpa took him and Kaylee to McDonalds. He didn't' eat much, but he had a blast.

Later that morning we had Kaylee's soccer orientation. We walked over to the rec center to pick up her jersey and schedule. Then stopped at the park for a few minutes for the kids to play. Mason tired out pretty fast at the park since he walked there the whole way. He wasn't to sure about the walking part. I ended up carrying him most of the way home.

After Jeramy got off work that afternoon, we headed to Fat Cats to go bowling. Mason has talked about going bowling on his birthday for months now. There was no way we were getting out of that!

After our game we were planning on going to The Pizza Factory located in the same building as the bowling alley. As we were taking our shoes off we heard a loud "boom" sound and the power went out. We waited about 15 minutes to see if it would come back on but it never did. Mason was a little disappointed he didn't get pizza, but quickly became excited when we mentioned "5 dollar foot longs". He loves Subway! Fine by me since it is a little healthier than pizza.

Mason was seriously spoiled with presents. We let him open the ones he received in the mail first. the others he had to wait until his party.

Mason got a gift card from Andy, Jean, and Christopher for his birthday, so we took him to Walmart to pick out his present. He ended up getting a T-ball set and a large size golf club. Here he is hitting the golf ball out the back door. Hmmm... Wonder who taught him that, Jeramy?!?!

Mason got a bug catching toy from Teri and Randy. He loves it! He went straight outside looking for bugs to put in it. We had to have a little chat with him. Bugs belong outside. Not inside! Hopefully he will listen! So far, nothing has been caught. But he goes out everyday looking.
Mason has been talking about having a Star Wars cake for months now too. Sometimes he would stray, saying Thomas the train, bouncy ball cake, etc. but he would always come back to Star Wars. It took me 5 different stores to find one. After that, every time we went to that store we had to stop and look at his cake.
So this picture totally makes me laugh. If you look at his eyes, he is eyeballing his cake. He would not leave it alone so I put him on the other counter when it came time to take it out of the box.

Also, when we took him to Walmart to use his gift card I finally found him a pair of flip flops, which he is wearing in the picture. He has asked for those since last summer. All of his shoes turned into flip flops then. Anyway, he wasn't to sure about them. The first time he put them on he wouldn't pick up his feet to walk. It was like he was skiing or walking with snow shoes. Silly kid!

Here he is blowing out his candles. Got them all on the first try. He was able to keep the toys on top of the cake. He plays and plays with those. He usually ends up taking one, if not both, to bed with him.

Did I mention how spoiled he was?!?! Overall, it was a pretty good Birthday for him. He is still talking about it. Everything now is "I love it!" Jeramy was in seventh heaven being the Star Wars fanatic he is.
